We request that you give us representation on the City of Brookhaven Interim Commission you appoint to organize the new city. Please respect the half of our community that voted against a City of Brookhaven and give us representation on the interim commission you appoint next week. Since this vote was so close, we want two No-City group people to be appointed by you to give us equal representation on the five-member interim commission to form the City. Recognizing the closeness of this election requires oversight by the No side to make sure all citizens of the new City are represented. 2. We request that you consider our list of qualified candidates for the interim commission. Vides available upon request. Before you appoint any members of the commission we ask that you make public the candidates you are considering for this commission. Our concern is that nearly half the city will be alienated from the other half, neighbor against neighbor, before we even start up. Only appointing members of the commission from the Yes side will exacerbate the animosity generated during the campaign.
